
BAE tests lower-cost anti-drone missile option for Typhoon fighters
BAE Systems says a guided 70-mm rocket kit can give Eurofighter Typhoons a cheaper way to intercept drones than relying on traditional air-to-air missiles.
- BAE Systems tested APKWS-guided rockets from an RAF Typhoon as a cheaper anti-drone option.
- The report says an AIM-9X Sidewinder can cost more than US$500,000 per shot.
