
WHO Declares International Emergency as Ebola Outbreak Spreads Across DRC and Uganda
The World Health Organization has declared a public health emergency of international concern after a rapidly expanding Ebola outbreak linked to the Bundibugyo strain spread in the DRC and into Uganda.
- WHO declared the Ebola outbreak a public health emergency of international concern.
- As of May 17, the DRC had 10 confirmed cases, 336 suspected cases and 88 deaths; Uganda had two confirmed cases and one death.
