Prime Assembly Extends Prime Editing to Large Genome Rearrangements
Key Takeaways
- Nature Medicine published a research highlight on 28 September 2026 describing a technique called prime assembly.
- The summary states prime assembly expands the capabilities of prime editing, allowing larger genome rearrangements.
- Prime editing has generally been limited to substitutions and short insertions or deletions rather than large structural changes.
- Details on efficiency, delivery, cell types, and specific rearrangements tested are not included in the available summary.
