Truck Hauling 387-Foot Wind Turbine Blade Up a Chinese Mountain Is a Stress Test
Key Takeaways
- A CGTN Europe video shows a truck carrying a wind turbine blade up narrow mountain roads in China's Nanling Mountain Range.
- The route climbs Baoding Mountain in Hunan, which stands about 1,312 feet high, with no guardrails protecting steep drops.
- The blade is described as roughly 172 feet and 80 tonnes in the article body, while the headline cites a 387-foot blade.
- Specialised carriers use hydraulic blade lifters to tilt the blade upwards of 60 degrees, clearing turns, homes, forests, power lines and bridges.
