Jeep Recon's 160-Mile Highway Range Isn't the Failure Reviewers Claim
Key Takeaways
- The 2026 Jeep Recon Moab launch edition managed 160 miles in Car and Driver's 80 mph highway range test, drawing criticism from The Autopian.
- The Recon has a 94 kWh battery pack and can charge at roughly 200 kW at peak DC fast charging speeds.
- Critics apply a 100-to-zero highway range standard that ignores real-world limits like bladders, rest breaks, and passenger patience.
- A 90-mile hop between chargers at 80 mph aligns with the Recon's 10-to-60 percent charging window, the band where DC fast charging is fastest.
