Catena-X Explained: The Automotive Data Network Suppliers Can't Ignore
Key Takeaways
- OEMs and suppliers face escalating requirements around carbon reporting, traceability, circularity and regulatory compliance.
- Data is frequently exchanged through fragmented systems and costly one-off integrations rather than shared infrastructure.
- Catena-X is positioned as an automotive data network intended to give the industry common rules and interfaces for exchanging data.
- Because integration costs scale with the number of relationships, a shared network model changes the economics for suppliers serving multiple OEMs.
