Latvia Moves to Buy Anduril's Barracuda Cruise Missiles for Long-Range Strike
Key Takeaways
- Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs said Riga is looking forward to completing an acquisition of Anduril's Barracuda long-range missiles.
- If completed, Latvia would be the first Baltic state to field a strike weapon in this category.
- The Barracuda family includes the -100M, -250M, and -500M variants; the -500M has a stated range of more than 500 nautical miles and speeds of roughly 190 to 500 knots.
- The air-launched Barracuda carries the U.S. designation AGM-189A, but Latvia's limited aircraft inventory makes the surface-launched SLB-500M the likely choice.
