Google quantum hardware test cuts magic-state errors 40-fold
Key Takeaways
- Google Quantum AI tested magic-state cultivation on its Willow superconducting processor.
- The researchers reported a 40-fold reduction in error for accepted magic states.
- The experiment used helper qubits and post-selection, with about 8% of attempts passing all checks.
- A new method called kickback tomography was used to assess very small remaining errors.
