Quantum ‘Birthmarks’ May Explain How Isolated Systems Remember
Key Takeaways
- Researchers propose “quantum birthmarks” as persistent traces of an isolated quantum system’s early history.
- The framework challenges the expectation that long-term behavior necessarily loses all connection to initial conditions.
- The work could guide studies of quantum thermalization, coherence, and quantum chaos.
